What is web hosting and why do I need it? This is often a question asked by clients, and it is easy to answer. If you don't host your new website somewhere, no-one will be able to see it even if they know the address. At its most basic, web hosting allows your website to be made available on a remote computer that is on all the time, so wherever and whenever visitors want to see it, they can. The size of the website determines two things: the disk space it uses, which refers to the physical space the files occupy on the server's hard drive; and the traffic, which refers to the amount of people who are viewing the site. We have put together several different plans to suit websites of different sizes.

The Bronze Plan

Our Bronze Plan is our entry-level hosting plan, and is suitable for small businesses, individuals, societies and groups where traffic is not expected to be very high and the site itself is relatively simple. Examples might be wedding sites, personal sites, CV sites or holiday photo sites.

The Silver Plan

The next in terms of size and traffic is our Silver Plan. This would be suitable for most small businesses and shopkeepers, or individuals who wanted others to access their views, research, work or perhaps hobbies. Examples might include model railway clubs, weightwatchers groups, church sites and so on.

The Gold Plan

Our Gold Plan allows a whole gigabyte of disk space and 10 GB of data transfer, or traffic - suitable for larger companies with up to 100 employees (100 mailboxes are included, so each employee can have their own e-mail address). Sites using the Gold Plan would probably have many pages, complex navidgation systems and downloadable elements like newsletters, PDF documents etc. Many will include forms for user input, like subscriptions, e-mail addresses or secure forms. Examples might include larger manufacturing companies, professions like solicitors or accountants, or tutorial and educational sites.

The Platinum Plan

Our top of the range Platinum Plan doubles the capacity of the Gold Plan for as little as £4 more per month, giving 2 GB of disk space and 20 GB of traffic with a whopping 200 mailboxes thrown in! This plan is big enough for most large websites that may have hundreds of pages and many images included on them. It is best suited to larger companies that have large volumes of data to present to the public or indeed, any target audience. A Head Office site, with several regional branches may need to use the Platinum Plan.

The Shopping Cart 20 Plan

Our Shopping Cart 20 Plan allows, as the name suggests, a 20 item Shopping Cart to be added to any existing site. Although other sizes are available, the 20 is one of our most popular with small business sites who do not have a large inventory to carry, but who still want to be able to sell online. Content Management Systems

We offer a full Content Management System on any websites that we build. Our CMS are so easy to use you probably won't need training, but if you do, we can provide that too. Most of our clients are up and running in minutes - you'll be able to edit text and insert images using a text editor that looks like a word processor!
