Domain Name Registration

If you don't already have a domain name (and most people don't) we can get one for you. This should be the same as your business or trading name where possible, e.g. www.sainsburys.co.uk. The suffix at the end of the domain name (or the Domain Extension) can indicate either the type of website or the country of origin. The two most common in the UK are: .co.uk - recommended for companies trading within the UK, and .com - recommended for international companies or those who have a global marketplace. There are now many other options available, including .net, .org , .biz and .ltd (available for limited companies only) but the price of each can vary considerably. Renewals are made annually.

However good your web site is, it is of little use unless people can find it. There are a number of ways to encourage visitors, bit it is important to ensure that the website address appears on your stationery, in any advertising you place, and on any company promotional material such as signs, packaging and clothing. e-mail

e-mail (electronic mail) is a method of communication across the Internet. If you have a computer with Internet access the chances are you'll probably already have an e-mail address, but all our hosting plans come with another free e-mail addresse. For example if you registered the domain name 'www.mysite.co.uk' you could have an e-mail address of yourname@mysite.co.uk ie: paul @mysite.co.uk.

Website Statistics

We provide a secure log-in for you to see very detailed statistics and information about the visitors to your web site. Each separate visit is known as a "Hit", and information on the number of hits, monthly daily or hourly can be requested. The statistics also tell you which pages of you web site are being visited the most giving you an idea of what people are looking for when hitting your site.

Digital photography

We will expect you to supply any images you want published on your web site in a digital format. If you only have hard copies (e.g. snapshots) we can scan these to make them suitable for inclusion but this is not always successful due to the resolution of the original image. If you need photographs taken of your products or properties to use on your web site, we can provide a top of the range professional photographer for you or alternatively we can take digital photographs for you 'in house.'
