Our web design philosophy
By seperating content and structure we build sites that are search-engine friendly, that load
quickly and look the same in any browser. They are consequently easier for people to find, and easier for people with disabilities to use - usable and accessible is our aim.
We encourage client involvment so that we can provide a totally bespoke service, which, when coupled with our inexpensive web hosting package will exceed expectations. If you already have a recognised brand we will ensure that this is reinforced through the site design by working with any company colour-schemes and logos. If not, we can help by designing logos and colour schemes to create one.
Brochure or E-commerce website?
The Brochure format web site is the most common of the two categories, and very popular with our travel sector clients. As the name suggests, it can be regarded as an online brochure to provide information (and most importantly pictures) about your business and its products or services to existing and potential customers. Some examples are:
- UK based and overseas property owners who let their properties - a brochure site is a great way to broadcast property details to a wide potential audience and include compelling images of the property in a very cost effective manner.
- Tradesmen who want to show potential customers samples of their work - Carpenters, kitchen fitters, landscapers, carpet fitters, bathroom fitters, bedroom fitters, tilers, driveway contractors and so on - the list is endless!
- Restaurants eager to expand their market share - a brochure site is a great way to show potential customers their menu without them coming anywhere near your premises. Many retaurants commission a website following a re-fit, or the the introduction of a new menu.
- Hotels and guest houses who want to capitalise on the wide advertising power of the Internet to boost occupancy
- Hairdressing and Beauty salons - although much of the business in this category comes from recommendation, many salons want the sophisticated image their own web site can give them and the chance of publishing style photographs, services and prices online.
An E-commerce web site allows owners to sell on-line and has huge potential for any business that sells its products via mail order. It can also be very effective for business to business (B2B) sales, so an E-commerce web site should be seriously considered as an additional sales tool in either case.
Website Construction
Once the design of the web site has been agreed, construction is carried out. We do not contract out design or coding work to other agencies; our sites are fully constructed in house using a combination of markup and leading design applications like Dreamweaver, Flash and Photoshop. All the sites we build can be hosted using one of our inexpensive web hosting plans.
The time it takes to complete the construction stage will depend on the number of pages to be included in the site and their complexity. We will give you an estimated date for your website going live when we quote; this may be revised if there are any changes or additions required once the site is seen on our secure test server.
We are, however, very good at completing within strict deadlines - use the form on our contact page to enquire.
Maintenance
Once your site is up and running and you have become used to having it, you may want to change certain aspects of it. This is very important if you are selling directly from the site, and equally if you are consolidating your brand. Fresh content is the life blood of any web site and will do you no harm at all with regard to your page ranking.
